IROKO | Philadelphia Navy Yard

Collaborating with DIGSAU and Liberty Property Trust on a new office building at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Studio Bryan Hanes developed a landscape plan in which the office workers could instantly feel comfortable. Seeking to expand on the thinly vegetated office park landscape that plagues many new corporate developments at the Navy Yard, SBH developed a planting scheme, which isolates and showcases native tree and shrub species in large blocks. In addition, a small turn-around area for a rarely-accessed utility building now doubles as a basketball court inscribed in a bright blue circle, perfect for lunch pick-up games and use by the nearby community.
